Gates Corporation, based in Denver, Colorado, is a leading manufacturer of application-specific fluid power and power transmission solutions. The European headquarter is Gates Industrial Europe SARL, a private limited liability company under Luxembourg law, with registered offices at Boulevard d’Avranches 16, 1160 Luxembourg. Further we will refer to both entities as “we”/”us”/”Gates”.

 

Gates is committed to protecting and respecting any personal information you share with us. Gates will be acting as a "data controller" for the processing activities described in this statement, which means that we define the purposes and the means for these processing activities. Gatestechzone is an open website for suppliers and potential and existing customers, including garages having interest in Gates automotive replacement products. This privacy statement concerns specifically the processing of their personal data through Gatestechzone.

We collect and process the personal data entered by you on Gatestechzone website in order to conduct our activities and to engage with you.  We only collect information which is necessary, relevant and adequate for the purpose for which you are providing it to us.     We do not collect any special categories of personal data collected (such as health data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation).

    How do we collect your data?

     

    We collect personal data by different means:

  • Offline: during events via business cards, forms, invoices, credit notes or any other document you provide.
  • Online: using cookies and when you fill out an online form (account registration, newsletters sign up, webinars and all processed forms)

We collect data with your consent if applicable, when you browse on or use the Website, via cookies about how you use the Website. Cookies are the technology used on the Website to collect your user information. Gatestechzone.com use of cookies is described further in this statement.

How will we use your data?

We collect your data so that we can:

  • Offer the best online experience (image and video quality, text in your language, personalized information)
  • In case you are an existing client, we use it to process your order and manage your account.
  • In case you subscribe to our Newsletter, we use your data to mail you with special offers on other products and services related to your product or contract.
  • If relevant, to provide you with all information required to connect in case of an online training (webinar, one-to-one meeting)

Gates will not share personal data with third parties. Only in case we have your consent, we will share your data with our partner companies so that they may offer you their products, services or information about the product you requested. 

How do we store your data?

 

Gates securely stores your data in our Customer Relationship Management Systems Salesforce and Oracle CRM – both with databases in the US. Both companies are privacy shield. On their website, you can find their security precautions to ensure that your personal data is protected.

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your contact data is being stored in Flexmail, which is an email marketing tool with the database located in the EU.

In these databases, Gates will keep your personal data for as long as necessary with regard to the purpose(s) of the processing. Depending on whether you are an existing or potential customer, specific data retention periods will apply. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data: in case you are a potential customer, it will be deleted after 3 years, in case you are an inactive client, your data will be deleted after 7 years.

In addition, Gates will apply adequate security measures to your personal data to protect them against any type of harm, such as unauthorized access or disclosure, loss, theft or damage. The level of security will be adapted to the nature of the processing activities and will be updated as technology evolves. If data transfers take place outside of the EEA, Gates takes appropriate steps to ensure the protection of personal data, in particular by an intragroup data transfer agreement.

Marketing

If you are an existing customer, we would like to send you information about similar products and services of our Gates companies that we think you might like. We are doing this based on the performance of the contract. If you are a potential customer, we will ask for your consent to receive marketing.

In case you receive Gates marketing, you may always opt out. All of our emails will provide a link to edit your preferences or unsubscribe.

You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes or giving your data to other members of the Gates Corporation.
